Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

David W. Levinson serves as Chairman & CEO of L&L Holding Company, LLC, which he co-founded with Robert T. Lapidus in June 2000.  L&L Holding Company is a privately owned real estate investment and development company.  Mr. Levinson’s responsibilities include the strategic direction of the Company, development, acquisitions, marketing and leasing.  Since inception, L&L has acquired assets in excess of 6 million square feet of commercial office space including 142 West 57th Street, 150 Fifth Avenue, 195 Broadway, 200 Fifth Avenue, 425 Park Avenue Ground Lease, 600 Third Avenue, 635 Madison Avenue Ground Lease and Park 80 West in Saddle Brook, New Jersey.  In 2003, L&L received BOMA’s Renovation of the Year award for the renovation and restoration of 150 Fifth Avenue.  In 2010, L&L’s signature project, 200 Fifth Avenue, received six distinguished awards: two Merit Awards from AIA New York, the first award in Architecture and the second award in Adaptive Reuse, an Innovative Interior Construction Award from the Greater New York Construction User Council, the Partnership Award from The Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership, an Interior Design Award from Contract Magazine and Architect magazine’s Annual Design Review, Work Award.  In 2011, L&L received BOMA’s Renovation of the Year award for their transformation of 200 Fifth Avenue.

In addition, 200 Fifth Avenue, having just earned its Gold LEED certification, now stands alone as the city’s only landmarked Core & Shell building to boast that prestigious designation.

Mr. Levinson served as Vice Chairman of CB Richard Ellis, Inc., the largest real estate services company in the world, until August 2005.  Prior to their acquisition of Insignia/ESG, Inc. in June 2003, Mr. Levinson served as Vice Chairman.   

Mr. Levinson’s civic responsibilities include appointments to the Executive Committee of The Board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of New York, Board of Trustees of the Intrepid Museum, Board Member of the Alliance for Downtown New York, Board Member of the Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts and Board Member of the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation. 

The New York Observer named Mr. Levinson one of The 100 Most Powerful People in New York Real Estate in May 2008 and May 2010.  Mr. Levinson has received numerous professional and civic honors some of which include receipt of the Henry Hart Rice Award from the Real Estate Board of New York, Inc. as well as being named Top Broker nationally three times by both Insignia/ESG, Inc. and CB Richard Ellis.
